Award Given for Community ServiceWritten on July 22, 2016
On July 21st, 2016, at the Acworth Business Association luncheon, the Acworth Downtown Development Authority presented Jay Thomas of Silverbach Law with a community service award. Jay was given the award for helping promote the Acworth Police by raising awareness of the city of Acworth’s Police Department’s outstanding service.
Jay, with the support of Silverbach Law, raised funds to have bumper stickers printed letting the Acworth Police know that their community supports them. The “We support the Acworth Police” magnets are now being displayed on over 2,000 vehicles in the community. Jay’s education of the day-to-day actives of the Police Department began when he attended the Acworth Citizens Police Academy in 2014 where he received training in firearms and police operations.
Jay Thomas began working at The Silverbach Group, aka Silverbach Law, in 2012. He is responsible for managing the business side of the firm and coordinates the marketing actives. Jay’s involvement with the Acworth Business Association led him to participate in the Police Academy, saying, “Most people have no understanding of how hard and demanding police work is. These men and women put their lives on the line for us every day, no matter what.” He added, “They deserve the respect and support from our community.” In addition, he encourages everyone to get involved with their local police department and would like to see all Acworth residents participate in the Citizens Police Academy.
Thank you, Jay, for supporting the City of Acworth and the police! Congratulations on the Community Service Award from the Acworth Downtown Development Authority!
